Week 30

Today we went for the sort of monthly visit (for this pregnancy instead of seeing the doc monthly we’ve stretched it to once every 6 weeks sometimes 7 weeks) aside from saving cost, we kinda seasoned enough to know what’s going on monthly and don’t see the need to see him on monthly basis. I was very excited though, woke up at 4 in the morning and going through names for the little girl and also trying to get back on the routine after a week long of Merdeka Raya holiday.

Bubs no 2 was extremely active, even doc said so after trying to catch a clear snapshot of her in my womb. She was wriggling around, yawning (a few times mind you), rubbing her eyes etc. So different compared to her jie jie. I remembered Ashley was pretty zen last time, hardly any active movements like her mei mei. If possible, this second girl of mine can go on all day long, wriggling and rolling I mean. She’s growing well and doctor’s pretty happy with her growth thus far. She’s weighing at 1.5kg now.

After the scan, we again discussed the options and keeping fingers crossed I’m able to birth naturally. I’m not that keen to be cut up UNLESS it’s absolute necessary, don’t get me wrong I have nothing against caesarean and it’s one’s choice if she wants to have a caesarean delivery but for me, I frowned upon the idea having to determine how your baby should make his/her appearance into the world when there is no medical need to. And I’ve been reading up on natural birth after an induced labor (doc mentioned I had a case of shoulder dystocia which is why he suggested that I have a caesarean delivery but turns out if one has an induced labor, chances of having complications is higher than letting the birth process take place naturally) as much as I can and telling myself to be positive about everything. And thanks to the wonderful mommies I know through forum on FB, they have been helping me go through my doubts and fears by offering support, advices, opinions and their own personal experiences. Bless their kind souls! So again praying that baby no 2 knows what to do and cooperate with her mommy.

As for the mommy, me, I finally hit the 70kg mark. Feeling really disappointed even though my weight gain haven’t reach 10 kilos. Bumped into a dear friend the other day and she pointed out I still look pretty much the same except for the bump, good thing I suppose. I’m still going around doing the usual chores and daily stuffs without a sign of slowing down, well except when the tummy turns ROCK hard and I just have to take smaller, slower steps. I find it amusing though when people around me expects that I be lying down all the time at this stage of the pregnancy, how to when you’ve got a preschooler at home. Strangely, I feel much better throughout this pregnancy but I ain’t complaining Winking smile

Week 30! A few weeks left to go!
